Carol, there is a sticky announcement right on the forum that says subscription charges will begin at the beginning of October. That thread is nine pages long. Have you not read it?

Me, I am very sad at the thought of people having to pay or be shut out. I know it costs money to run the site, and I suppose B&K would find it nice if we paid for their jet-setting. But most of us are trying as hard as we can to get by. No, I cannot pay $30 a year.

I have offered to help moderate, there are many things I'd be willing to do to help out. But that just barters for my own membership. What about all the others who can't pay? Apparently, the decision has been made that these people aren't worthy of the information, and the assumption is there, too, that since they are poor they must have nothing worthwhile to offer. How Old-Paradigm is that???

If there is to be no subscription charge, then there has been a lot of uproar and hurt feelings over nothing. This too, damages the integrity of the forum. We are owed an apology, if this is the case.

Some members have made it clear that they think those who can't pay should just go get drunk. If that's where the forum is headed, it's all over.
