These last responses reminded me of one of my favorite poems:

CREATIVE POWER

Far be it from me to tell you what to do;
For my life belongs to me, and your life belongs to you.

But I can tell you this, and you will find it's true,
that what you hold your thoughts on, will someday come to you.

When thinking what you want, magnetic powers begin,
attracting into your life, those things you're focused in.

By thinking what you don't want, the same great power applies,
for that on which you focus, the universe supplies.

The power of thought plus feelings, speeds up creation's flow
so listen to your feelings, the language of the soul.

For when you have good feelings, your wants are on their way,
but feelings are the culprits, that drive your wants astray.

Just focus on abundance, and not upon the lack,
for what you give the universe, the universe gives you back,

So want, intend, expect, allow and you will see,
the universe provides - don't doubt and it will be.
