I think he was seeing "us" hundreds of thousands of years ago when we inhabited Mars. Remember, remote viewing is timeless, there would be no definite way for the viewer to discern an accurate timeline. Or maybe it wasn't us, maybe these were not human beings, but I still think he was seeing the past. Anyway just a thought.
