Thanks for posting data Jan. I'm at the library now and have just scanned your drawings of the US Air Force Space Command symbol you remember seeing on the uniforms of the people on board the craft during the night in question. This is at the top of the page with a drawing of a Blackbird aircraft-more about the blackbird aircraft soon.
Jan tells me he is not familair with the USAFSC symbol in his 'everyday life'.
As you see this is a very unusual symbol.
