Hi, Camilo, are you in Colombia??!

Thanks, Gatekeeper, yes, I would like you to add Colombia.

There are highlands over here between the Moutain chains (Cordilleras).

Cundinamarca (where Bogota, the capital city is located) is within 'Cundinamarca's' terrains. It's got many beautiful landscapes (those like Ecuador's) and many water streams. As a matter of fact, many people have built houses in the mountains over here. And the plain terrain of Cundinamarca is at 2600 meter of altitude from the sea level, and it's also in the middle of the country surrounded by those mountain chains on each side.

It's a guerrilla-free zone, as many farmers live here and they all have militar protection (yet it would be hard for the guerillas to set near these places, they're just too close to the capital city and therefore near the government's houses). Guerrillas usually live by the wood zones of Colombia, by the south-east side.

Truth here is that the closer you are to a main city, the more protected you are, plus you have plenty of land to grow whatever small farm you'd want to grow, and you'd still be living like in a real farm that could be miles away from any civilization.

People from the cities have all attitudes, but they usually see foreigners in a 'normal' way, and for the guys: they don't make troubles if you date brown&black chicks from here!! (it applies the contrary for girls, too)

My recommendation for Colombia would be to get along with the locals instead of avoiding them, they can teach you quite a lot of things, from farm things to social living, and all that can be included between those. Here is a different culture from most European, Israelian and American cultures, so you will learn much of this culture when you get here. Getting along is a good key which you won't find that difficult when you are here!! ;p

From Cundinamarca to the borders with Ecuador, you will only find highlands (even higher than Cundinamarca).

But if you prefer to live at a "prudent" distance from a beach, there are many lands in lower lands, and also by the sea level, but since we're talking that there might be a major flood sometime near, so you might be choosing the highlands, I guess??! Though, you can get a trip to those lands by the sea, you will find very warm people there willing to guide you and make you spend a good time!!

So, let me know if any of you guys are interested, I can find you some vacant land over here at good prices!!
