For some drugs the doctor can require you to come back in to check for side-effects. Some require a periodic blood or urine sample to check for kidney, liver, or bone marrow damage.

Think simple ... maybe the guy made a mistake on who he called - got off on the wrong line, and was supposed to call the person above or below you.
