Ill start by giving a text from Bhagavad Gita.
Ch 6 Text 6
For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.
I like this because it reminds me of how important it is to control ones senses such as anger, greed and violence etc, and it encourages the promotion of humility, goodness, pridelessness etc.
