Thank you Always, for bringing this up...
gosh I wasn't even thinking of it like that.
when I wrote the title to this thread, I did so, wanting to peek curiosity and
have people come in and look. I really don't know much about Descartes at
all and I know without a doubt that we don't need thought to exist.
I was simply wanting to remind others that we are creators and one way we
create is with thought... that's what I meant by the title.
I guess I should have said something like "I think - therefore - I create"
this is my first forum experience ever.
I am finding it difficult at times to express myself through typing.
I already feel limited in my own language let alone trying to convey my
thoughts and emotions through the typing of posts. I realize I need to be
more specific and direct, even with my humor.
I recently wrote "who are Bill and Kerry" on another thread that I thought
was getting unnecessarily heavy and I just wanted to lighten it up a bit...
I thought my comment was funny. but sure enough it was taken literal
which just points out my need to be less obscure in my posting.
I started this thread because I want us to be aware and personally
responsible of our creations and our thoughts. it was to be about
imagination and creation and the power we have to do so.
if you don't mind, let me try again with a new title...
PROcreate
of all the billions of people who populate the earth,
you and you alone are
capable of creating something unique.
whether it’s the ultimate vibrator, a flushable toilet,
a lifetime of exquisite
paintings or a child;
YOU are the only one who carries the blueprints.
I figure that all the lies surrounding the creative process
have persisted
because we've become basically a doubting, disbelieving breed.
we have to
make up whatever thoughts we can to keep us from
doing the work of our
dreams, and so the myth persists.
I’ve spent many of my years encouraging others to express themselves.
I’ve seen people cling to more lies that render them absolutely
powerless
than I ever thought possible…including myself.
there’s no substitute for flying!
pursuing a dream would mean too much hard work,
too many demanding
hours and less security.
worst of all, it might mean exposure, and even
more mortifying,
potential humiliation. yet far more devastating has to be
that withering
moment at the end of your life when you look up and
realize
you’ve missed your chance. you settled for mediocrity and will
now
die alongside all that unrealized potential.
by creating and pursuing our dreams comes the chance to represent
ourselves in the world
in a way that truly matters.
YOU are the only one who can make your dreams come true.
YOU are the creator.
so please,
dare to dream
dare to be seen
to be heard
and most importantly…
create the reality of your dreams
~ love in you ~
