Re: I think - therefore - I AM
Kulapops,
Rene Descartes was a part of the "Age of Reason" (17th C.) and very much into thinking, which was probably a phase we had to go through. Shakespeare's plays (also 17th C.), contain elements from an earlier more spiritual time, including forest and nature beings and the like. As I see it, we are now returning to a greater connection to our True Nature.
You/me/we are Existence, appearing as vibrational energy beings and everything else. Knowing that you are is the only absolute certainty in life and even when your body fades away, you will still know that you are. (You will have a prior, finer body that seems just as real as the one you have now, though that body isn't the Real You either.)
It is Existence or Oneness that sees and hears and is aware of thoughts. In a 3000+ year-old Egyptian text contained in "The Kolbrin" aka "Kolbrin Bible", I came across the following with respect to seeing and hearing (paraphrasing):
The eyes and ears of a fresh corpse are in perfect condition for seeing and hearing, but cannot see or hear because the Life Force that animates the body is gone. You are the Life Force. (end of referenced material)
Because we spend so much time lost in thought, we don't allow our brain synapses to reconnect with the Higher Self/Existence/Oneness/True Nature (whatever you want to call it, the words don't matter). The era we are living in is a good time to reconnect. It may seem boring at first, but the more we allow ourselves to just be, the faster our higher connections will return.
(IMO)
