A machinist, capable of everything from bulk production, to one-off pieces, and tooling. Hand machine work, programmable machine work. Even sent all over the world to teach same.
Then the US decided manufacturing was icky, and decided we'd rather be poor than working. So....
CAD Drafting & Design. I've worked in the design/R&D depts. of places that built particle accelerators, SCUBA gear, even ultra-pure chemical generators for Micro-Chip manufacturing.
Then the US decided we don't want that kind of thing around here and sent that offshore too. So....
Networking, Computer Management, Database admin, etc. Even went back to school for it. Pretty good at small business network management, and Web/Database design, if'n I do say so myself.
Then, age discrimination decided that anyone over 45 can't possibly know anything useful about computers, even though I've been involved since 1978. So...
What I do for a living is send out Resumes, so people can tell me I am "overqualified".
