Careful on what you get from Russian media. They are not an independent source either. Russia is currently engaged in a campaign to bring civil unrest to America.
We are already in the 3rd world war. It has already begun...matter of fact we have been in it for some time now.
Though many people would like to have the public believe we are in a religious war nothing can be further from the truth. We are in a war for resources. All wars have always been for resources. Even ww2 was for resources. The primary resource is oil.
When you think of everything we use oil products for the realization that with no oil or limited oil our way of life would cease to exist hits your square in the face.
Russia also wants oil as does China. The middle east provides 70% of the world's oil. Iran provides 68% of that.
There is a oil filed of interest to Russia in the Caspian sea basin. This oil field needs to be tapped and transported over land, through AFGHANISTAN and into a harbor for loading on barges.
back in the 80's Russia tried to build that pipeline but was stopped by a group of citizen fighters backed and founded by the CIA as well as the Bin Ladin family of the middle east. They were later named Al-Queada by the FBI during the first bombing trail of the WTC.
That same route for the pipeline is where 7 USA bases are being constructed as we speak in Afghanistan now. The war on terror is nothing more than a cover for a war for oil. it's much easier to sell a war for oil if people think it's a religious war.
Russia knows they can get the field and pipeline back if the USA pulls out the troops. Not gonna happen under current conditions. But if they can create enough civil unrest where the government has to focus else where they might get it back.
Russia's ultimate goal is to create a civil war in the USA. This would force our troops home to fight us and leave the oil fields unprotected. Another goal would be to make other fronts, to bleed us dry through military spending.
Everything is resource motivated. Russia wants that pipeline back and will do whatever it takes to get it. Meanwhile our troops think they are fighting terrorist but in reality are babysitting oil pipelines.
Beware Russia propaganda can be just as dangerous as our own.
