I think the 'free' part is after you have bought the device, a little like solar energy. It seems all very well said and done, but as in the case of solar energy, it isn't really all that cost effective for private housing. There are companies that use up acres of land to make a solar panel farm to keep themselves running on power, but it is very expensive.
On my farm for example, my energy bill is around R$19,00 (US$12,00) per month. If an appliance that gives out free energy costs R$5 000,00 it just doesn't become viable, but I'm sure that Greer must realize that, or at least I hope he does when it comes down to supplying the third world countries.
