I'm beginning to think that finding out what's going on here is like solving in algebra equation with two unknown variables -- in other words, it can't be done. I have felt several times like I was close, but each time I end up getting new data that seems to invalidate my conclusion. I think whoever's in charge knows this and is throwing out every scenario as "truth" through backchannels. The problem is that so many of these things are so difficult to prove...
