John Gatto is not a lone voice crying out about the origins of the Prussian Schooling system in use in America. Sadly here in Australia the origins of our schooling system is shrouded in more obfuscation.

The Australian Schooling System started in Australia's first NSW penal colony during a period where starvation was so real a possibility that only work important to the survival of the colony was allowed. And yet in this dire period of Australian Colonization a schooling system was initiated. Why? Think about it. Of the some 30 children present in the colony only a few were there for committing a crime. Most were the children of prisoners from Ireland. And you can't have future generations perpetuating the opinions, ideals and criticisms of non-national parents.

The solution? Realign future generations of the colony to the political perspectives and religion of the STATE via re-education through schooling.

It was a brilliant move, not only could you cut-off access to the parents during school hours but being educated by only white Protestant teachers you could erect a ruling white class mentality. After all spending countless hours taking instruction from white folk exclusively as children why would one question the practice after completion of school?

It seems the Governments of the world are always forced to break existing laws put in place to protect personal freedoms in the name of the children. "CHILD ABUSE!!!" The catch cry of political will when all other trickery fails to obtain desired outcomes.

The Australian government used the same excuse of a "national emergency" in the Northern Territory to "save the children" and physically step in and take control of indigenous communities not cooperation with the mining magnates. The Northern Territory is the only region where Aborigines have comprehensive land rights, granted almost by accident 30 years ago. Here lies some of the world’s biggest deposits of uranium. Canberra wants to mine it and sell it. And not I bet for the children.
