How long is forever? A million years...or really and truly forever? If we live for a million years...and then cease to exist...will that be a lot of work for nothing? If this is the case...does life really have any significant meaning presently? If there was no life beyond the grave...would it be worth it to continue the evolutionary process? The show must go on...but why? If we live forever...will we be able to remember all of our previous existences? If we can't remember...then was any of it really worthwhile? I presently feel very insecure about the state of my soul. There have been (and continue to be) so many lies about just about everything...that I really have very little faith in anyone or anything. I once spoke with Dr. Edgar Mitchell regarding life after life (and not about the Moon)! John Lear has some interesting things to say regarding the soul and the Moon (after the soul leaves it's 'container')! This subject is a grey-area!
I do want to live forever...but the following must be present:
1. Eternal Life.
2. Eternal Memory.
3. Eternal Intelligence and Responsible Freedom.
4. The Absence of Extreme Suffering Over Long Periods of Time.
Is this too much to ask? Otherwise...I'm easy.
The following is a grave gravestone engraving:
"Stop my friend...as you pass by.
As you are now...so once was I.
As I am now...you will surely be.
So prepare yourself...to follow me."
The Agnostic's Prayer:
"Oh Dear God (if there is a God)
Save My Soul (if I have a soul)"
