It IS great. It's not perfect. There are some innovations going on with the waits. (Unfortunately, under-staffing - which speaks to prioritizing national budgets - doesn't seem to be there yet. A lot of government union bashing going on. Nurses get the worst of it.... I could go on and on, training foreign doctors etc). The other is queue theory I believe. Even McDonald's uses mathematical models to hurry things up. Our hospitals don't, yet.

Sez who ? It's good to watch the sources on that. Most Canadians LOVE our system, with its warts and flaws.
There have been moves to privatize services, especially in Alberta where I live, and there are private clinics all over the country anyway. It's always a fight with the Canada Health Act. I'm very wary of that. It's a slippery slope and boom it's gone. The insurance companies own it.
