I'd prefer the latter, but it's not very realistic at this point in my opinion.

..but just because it's hard to be a lone voice of reason, it doesn't mean I shouldn't try. I do believe that if I keep trying this week, this month, next month, and again and again.. eventually something will be done. So if it isn't fixed this time, that's the way it's going to have to be.
I'm not giving up. I like this forum. I like the topics. I like the effort. But I can't participate amongst so much mockery, jokes, insincerity and vitriol. So, anything I have to say is largely on hold until it's fixed. If that takes 7 years, well it takes 7 years.
