The testing becomes more and more difficult, and even more so for the older children. Sitting on your very uncomfortable bed with itchy blankets the nurse opens the door of the dorm and calls out several names. These children are to follow her to do some special tests. We look at each other, with dread, and slowly leave the dorm and follow the nurse along the hallway, right to the end, then out of a door onto an area in the open, bright sunshine, nice and warm, and fresh air. We all smile at one another. Here we are, four small children, two boys, two girls, standing in the warm sun, smiling. We look around and see fields beyond a tall fence. Then we see the officer, the writing man and two others, these were ordinary soldiers, standing off to one side, next to a brick wall.

The officer approaches us and chats with us, ordinary basic things about being outside, lovely day, etc etc. Then asks us to try one special test and if we succeed all of the children will be rewarded with ice cream and jelly. We all look at one another and smile. The officer then asks us to hold hands and concentrate with our minds on the two soldiers standing by the brick wall. We each grab the others hand and stand there, shaking a little, nervous with what is to come. The officer smiles as he bends down to face us. He asks us if we can, as a combined group, with our minds, concentrate enough to push the two soldiers over. The girls drop hands and scream, start crying. The nurse comes over and pacifies them telling them no one is going to be hurt. Minutes later we stand holding hands and begin the test. We concentrate. My mind starts to go to that place as that feeling in my head begins. I picture the two soldiers falling over, almost being blown over. The nurse comes over and pulls us together, we stand, a bit dazed, looking towards the wall we see the two soldiers on the ground, not moving. We start to cry out and are ushered inside quickly. The soldiers we were informed later were knocked unconscious but ok. We actually managed to knock them off their feet and into the wall. It was sandwiches with ice cream and jelly for tea that day.
