My sense of humor took a while to kick in - this in itself is a wonder because both of my parents had fantastic abilities when it came to telling jokes. Anyway, the first joke I heard (or at least, the first one I remember hearing) was when I was five. It stuck in my mind because it was illogical . . .

Q. What would you do if you had a hundred pounds?
After rattling off all the things you'd buy, the answer came back . . .
A. I'd buy a new bum 'cos mines got a crack in it.
