Default Re: A Message from Aton.

Jehovah -

OK. If we're talking about Yahweh or God here, the fear god, there's a place for that. It gives people direction, a warning. A parent wouldn't want to have their kid walk off cliffs either. But how to put the message? I was never a whack-a-mole parent, more of an aikido parent. I can't speak for it myself, but people have always told me I have a way with children. Actually, my father wanted me to be a teacher - said it would be a natural way to go - I told him I liked kids too much to be a teacher lol. Many of my teachers were good, I admire them, but I hated the straps on the chair. It impedes exploration.

On that, I heard of a novel approach recently, where kids study ONE THING for 12 years. Say, dust. If they bore into the topic of dust, it eventually covers everything. So that's my little pedagogical series of spits.

I have spent a lot of time talking to Jehovah Witnesses at the door and I've invited them in too - there have been great discussions. The one thing (and they became friends because we talked about family, worries, health, deaths too) that was not resolved was the reward-punishment paradigm. That was one thing my friends could not explain away. I still read Watchtower. Its news is often more relevant than the local paper with big questions. Also, a lot of cracked up people have turned their lives around on account of encounters with JW and joining the fold.
