A clue??

Then~ comes a call to arms!

In a quiet neighborhood just west of Embassy Row in Washington,
there exist a medieval-styled walled garden whose roses, it is said,
spring from twelfth-century plants"

just within this walled sanctuary~ there's a Carderock gazebo-known as Shadow House.
In the gazebo sits a tiny hunched backed old man with
elfin features. There~ a young helper finds him taking in some air......
the young man brings a strange message from a caller....
"Is there no help for the widows son?"
