The original 'V' series featured 'visitors' who were secretly helping the human race. I do think all of this is complex...with several (or many) factions. The 'Lone Gunman' foretold 9/11 with eerie detail and accuracy...6 months before 9/11. Was this an Illuminati deception or what? All of this stuff is very weird.
