While never having consciously come across a grey meself; From what I have read of them, their most likely origin seems to be a form of PLF, or programmed life form.

"your mileage may vary..." and I'd be interested in hearing why. I just don't see man spending all this time and effort to wind up a glorified ant farm.

I dunno... call it food for thought.
