It's the end of the world as we know it - And I feel fine !! Great one Christo

Yes, this comes back to my point about what makes a good story ?

If it's a really, truly great story, then it probably isn't true ! Because great stories match our perception of how we think the world is.

And of course, the world is nothing like what we think it is. we didn't create it, so how can we understand or know it ?? We can only experience it.

We come back from the future to change the present? Leaving behind artefacts too ? That sure as hell is going to cause a problem to their future

Didn't the guys who wrote this watch Terminator ??

Did they not even get a look at It's a wonderful Life ??

Mind you they've probably got a MacGuffin that will solve this issue too (script writing term for that must have artefact in a film that everybody needs or moves the plot along in some way. the One Ring is a good example of this, or even Private Ryan...but there are many duff ones. ) . (the looking glass is an example of a Macguffin too)

Let's see how some stories do on the Great-story-o-meter...

UFO crashes into the sea whilst being chased by jets and is filmed by spanish (note, not English, or American, 'cos that would be boring!) fisherman.
WoW ! That's so great it's gotta be NOT true.

Pharmaceuticals release pandemic material so that they can clean up by selling the cure
A bit far fetched, but plausible.

How about:

Illuminati try to exterminate the whole planet by forcing people to take a shot that will kill them, rounding up those who refuse in enforced internment

Now, I worried a lot about this one, but then, it is a great story....so maybe not

How about

Elvis lives on the far side of the moon ?

Don't get me wrong... something is going to happen...but my view is that the more 'likely' the explanation makes a sensational story , the less likely that is going to be what happens .....

Meanwhile, let's keep singing... and keep our livers clean !
