Hi greenelephant,
You are right about the countries that wanted to stop trading in US$, coincidentally being included in the 'axis of evil' by George Bush.
I think Iran is trying to push the envelope a little with the US as it knows the world is beginning to have less faith in the dollar (there sre reports of using other currencies for world currencies in the MSM) and that the US is strapped for cash and even if it did make a nuclear bomb, the US doesn't have the money or willing manpower to send in the troops.
Israel also knows that it has few friends in that region of the world, so although it could strike first, would not be the one to strike last.
To be quite frank, I think the US troops would refuse to go to Iran at this moment as the US is not even willing to send in the troops requested by the general on the ground, consequently are too thin on the ground even in Afghanistan.
The US Congress has recently had to borrow extra money from the treasury, just to keep running. The current fiscal year ends today, so now we shall see how the US is really up the creek. That will give foreign nations more leaway to carry out their agendas and distance themselves from the dollar.
Best regards,
Steve

Do you think that this may be the straw that will break the camels back in this dispute which in turn US/Israel will begin initating a pretext for war?
