If I look at this 360 degree video of cydonia from ESA, I can imagine how come the 'face' looked as it did in '76 considering where it was lit from
http://www.esa.int/esa-mmg/mmg.pl?b=...start=1&size=b
the shadowing covers the more rounded other slopes and suggests symmetry (because we can see one eye socket, we assume the other one is there even though we can't see it).
I can imagine, looking at the revolving image that light would make a shadow today similar to the one seen in 76. the left hand side of the 'face' does not seem to have changed much at all to me. (just lit from above instead of the side)
Feardia, did you read somewhere that they did drop a bomb on cydonia?
I think Richard Hoagland had some very interesting pictures of all kinds of ruins in and around this site though that suggested some kind of settlement there. I don't have the links but it's definitely an interesting site.
I don't think, looking at the ESA pictures now, that it was ever a face, though I did believe this
before looking at the ESA site just now! So thanks for that Feardia !

my illusion has gone
(the resolution is so clear you'd expect something more of giveaway clue - unless of course they photoshop it all out. Those deep channels on the right side are very interesting though.... wonder what they could be ?) If it
was bombed, it might be looking into a tunnel that winds down the side of the mountain.
Unless of course the ESA just made up some pictures of a mountain to pacify the masse

. Either way, we ain't ever going to know for sure what it is unless someone goes and takes a picture with their iPhone and brings it back...
Peace n love,
K
