In Islam Iblis is a Djinn and a devoted servant of God

As the Angels God created the Djinns out of smokeless fire and after created Adam out of the Earth

God extolled Adam as the Best of His Creation and asked the Assembly to prostrate before Adam

This was too much for Iblis who was rising in rank close with the Angels

And as a shooting star Iblis fell to reign in Hell as Shaytan
