Upcoming meetings -

Harper to meet with Obama, Calderon at summit

...Calderon and Harper were to have a one-on-one meeting Sunday, and it is expected that Calderon will press Harper to drop the recently imposed visa restrictions on Mexican nationals visiting Canada.

Harper won't get to meet one-on-one with Obama at the two-day Mexico summit. But the prime minister's office announced Friday that Harper will visit Obama at the White House on Sept. 16, a week before the two leaders head to the G20 summit in Pittsburgh.

...After the Mexico summit, Harper is scheduled to fly to Panama, where he is expected to sign a free-trade agreement with Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli. It will be the first time a Canadian prime minister has visited Panama.

Funny, I never heard anything about free trade with Panama in the news

On May 2008 the Governments of Canada and Panama agreed to participate in exploratory discussions on the possibility of a free trade agreement. The first round of negotiations took place on 29 October 2008 in Ottawa, Canada. The second was held on 1-5 December 2008, in Panama City, and the third round of negotiations took place the week of January 12-19, 2009 in Ottawa. The fourth round of free trade negotiations ended on 25 March 2009.
