Correct me if I am wrong. The thread linked to is about the "National Service Corps Bill."

And I guess this is what the President is referring to in the letter by saying "...United We Serve – a nationwide call to service..."

In addition, there is the "Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act," which may have "...language indicating young people will be forced to participate in mandatory national service programs..."

Is anyone particularly familiar with this bill? Can you point to the language in question?
