The count slows....any in the previous post or this one in your state?

HR 1207 ~ 182 Co-sponsors and Counting

Posted by Justin Kapacinskas on 06/03/09 08:21 AM

I just checked thomas.gov and HR 1207 is now up to 182 co-sponsors, including Rep. Peter Roskam representing the 6th Congressional District of Illinois. However, Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson (IL-11) is still not yet listed, so we can expect the number of co-sponsors to increase in the near future, since she has also decided to co-sponsor this important legislation.

Now is the time to get fired-up and continue to build momentum for HR 1207 here in Illinois. Myself and a few others have been working on a project to petition for HR 1207 in the Congressional Districts of Illinois http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=19079 where, for largely nondescript reasons, the representatives in those districts have chosen to not cosponsor this common-sense measure.

Here is a list of representatives in Illinois who yet require a gentle reminder that transparency and accountability for the institution that sets monetary policy affecting the entire economy should not be optional. You just might be inclined to give their offices a call and/or send them an email or a hand-written letter and inquire as to their position on HR 1207 and transparency for the Fed.

Congresswoman Bean (IL-8, House Financial Services Committee)
Congressman Foster (IL-14, House Financial Services Committee)
Congressman Kirk (IL-10)
Congressman Quigley (IL-5)
Congressman Gutierrez (IL-4, House Financial Services Committee)
Congressman Davis (IL-7)
Congressman Rush (IL-1)
Congressman Lipinski (IL-3)
Congressman Jackson (IL-2)
Congressman Costello (IL-12)

HR1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act 2009

Posted by JennyBrown on 06/03/09 10:45 AM

In honor of this bill now reaching 182 co-sponsors. I have hosted on line a petition and fact sheet to make it easy for you to encourage your congressman to become a cosponsor of Federal Reserve Transparency Act 2009. All you have to do is print both forms out, take them with you where ever you go, get signatures while educating people, send them to your congressman. When they see how many people we are reaching they will become co-sponsors. Click on the highlights to take you to the fact sheet, and the Audit the Federal Reserve petition. Let's get some signatures! If everyone gets at least 10 signatures, and we have over 100,000 members we would flood their offices with 1,000,000 signatures. We can do this and make a difference!
