Wait a min! - If the PI raminds and sphynx are ground representations of the stars (As above so below) then are these 4 people also stars or constellations?
The women may be Virgo?
The bearded man looks like the traditional depiction of Hercules.

Thats absolutely Xcellent observation, but the mystery is in the detail. The staffs are a wonderful clue.
