Mine That Bird, a 50-1 longshot ridden by Calvin Borel, drew away from the field in a dramatic stretch run to win the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs Saturday.

The Kentucky-bred bay gelding, bought as a yearling for just $9,500, left the field in his wake to record his first victory of the year in America's most prestigious race.

Pioneer of the Nile finished second and Musket Man third.

The winning time for the mile-and-a-quarter race over a sloppy Churchill Downs track was 2:02.66.

I 'm doing a post on this right now. The Pioneer of the Nile is the Sphinx. The Sphinx is the Key. Kent U C KY Derby or Can't you See Key Birdy.The Phoenix. The sloppy Church Hills down is the Vatican where part of the key rests.
