Yes, the most basic way for the body to restore itself. I might add that the conscious mind is the level that produces the chemical imbalance/toxins in the body. That's is why we need sleep, which is another way of saying that we need to shut down the conscious mind and let the body catch up to re-balance. This is why people that practice disciplining their mind/thoughts need less sleep.. they produce less chemical imbalance in their body.
