Default Re: salvia divinorum

I've tried salvia before and it's very hard to try and explain. First off, the people that knock it without any real knowledge aside from their opinions are better off not posting in this thread. It does nothing to contribute to the sharing of experiences.

That said, I feel salvia is like some sort of catalyst to a deep meditation. You need some experience with meditation to truly understand what your mind is doing. Once you've accomplished this, you can start opening your mind more.

During my experiences, I recall the feeling of being pulled out of my body like it was some sort of suit and I was viewing reality from backstage or something. Like I said, it's hard to explain but maybe it's similar to OBEs. The last time I did it, I was communicating with other forms of conciousness (I couldn't see them, but I felt them) and they said that if I wanted to "go" with them, I needed to take another hit. What I understood this to mean was that I would seperate from this physical reality and not return.

That unsettled me enough that I've never smoked it again. Salvia is a very spiritual experience and can work wonders in opening one's mind. However, it's not a recreational drug that is "fun". Once you've tried it, you have no desire to do it again. But I am glad that I tried it, and it's a shame to see it becoming outlawed when there is so much promise with salvia research into things like treating depression. I wish people could have a more open mind about this world, and maybe they need salvia to accomplish just that.
