We think we are smart in preparing by stock piling food/water, having a back-up generator etc. Well I suggest that you think about defense also. All of those people that we have told things to over the years that we thought weren't listening, will suddenly remember that we've prepared and just might come knocking on our doors.

Exactly to the point. The problem with most people preparing is that they never think about this aspect and the psychology of the survivor herd. Few shotguns won't do you any good as more than likely the immoral survivors will group up in gangs and pillage anything they come to. Also you have to count that the current criminal organizations will get a free hand to expand their empires.. meaning you wouldn't last more than a couple of weeks. Its good to be prepared but don't overdo it.. a few months seems a reasonable period.
