When it rains it pours!
We just moved from NM after trying to locate like minded folks.
While we were in NM we had to move two times in 3 weeks, in this last move we left the state after our landlord did not inform us they were in foreclosure and behind in utilities (our rent included utilities).
Now we've been here 4 days and they are evacuating the neighborhood next to us because of grass fires. In fact there are 11 homes burnt down in the neighborhood next to us. I just spoke with two families that had to leave and were forced to evacuate. One family lost their home the other is pending.
Our power is flickering and I'm keeping this laptop up as long as possible. We are being told to get ready to leave. Whew, when it rains it pours.
Last time we moved back to this area, the world's largest tornado hit within a week of moving in. Being the first perons on the scene, I did triage outside for three days, and since I an amateur radio operator I was able to establish communications and eventually had a list of 600 missing people.
Now, after trying to locate "places of safety" my wife is very weary as are several displaced people in this area.
To say the least we are exhausted.
We have been on a journey to find like minded folks to get together with, but apparently our decisions have failed us.
Now the fire has moved from 5 miles away to one mile away and they cannot get the fires under control. We are located right next to an air force base and which is preparing for the worse.
There are multiple fires and high winds, but fortunately there have bee no deaths.
And on top of all this.... there are tornado watches at the same time....
Will, report more later....
