Default Re: CANADA "Get Prepared"

Many of the emergency and survival booklets and information differentiate between 72 hours and a week's supply of essentials.

It is recommended that a survival pack of basic supplies sufficient for 72 hours be kept on hand for emergencies forcing people to leave their homes and head out wherever. (earthquakes, fire, floods etc)

The week's supply applies to remaining in one's house eg quarantine, bad weather, disruption of food and water supplies etc.

A few months ago, I heard a similar suggestion over the radio for an emergency pack for the car. Common sense especially if children are involved.

I'm sure that if we check the Red Cross and similar links we would find that this information has been in place for quite a while. As some of you have mentioned, a situation is developing and that may be why the message has intensified.
