Hi Kathleen, it was just to show how movies or pictures use symbolism to refer back and forth to other things as I believe this picture of Dan and Marci were taken a still from this Monty Python movie, the movie about the search for The Grail or Chalice, which has a rabbit hole that the killer white rabbits come out of.They have shields and they have the crosses on the tunics, Arthur having the Blazing Sun symbol. Symbols can have many layered meanings or mean the opposite to different people or are making fun of something, satirical. Such as the peace sign which means many different things to different people.

So by his choice of symbols he is playing on the looking glass theme, white rabbits, wearing glasses or "looking glasses" , red shields which have many meanings , Alice in Wonderland, Holy Grail movie etc. So to see a symbol we instantly are reminded of many things or a theme or (the me), which is a whole other topic. I am very new at all of this but see the patterns now in many things, yes one could say all of this is coincidental. I do not believe it to be.
