Sorry Brutus, I don't want to offend you or anyone else, but this is my take.
The core message of that masterpiece is this: we didn't show up when we said we would and it was entirely your fault because you didn't live up to our expectations. You weren't good enough. There were a few that were and they had a FANTASTIC time with us; what a shame you hadn't behaved well enough to deserve that.
If that isn't a standard religious guilt trip in new age clothing I don't know what is. The closest comparison I can think of is Santa Claus. It's child psychology at its worst and most emotionally manipulative.
