I highly disagree.

When culture involves embracing people and sharing time-honored customs, I don't see how it could be dangerous.

Of course, we all can look beyond culture. I am Deaf but I do not follow that specific culture. I am also Native American but I don't really follow it as much as I could. I have my own culture, my own ways, etc.

You can be independent of culture and still recognize it and take the most useful elements of it to help you in your life.
