The huge reduction in shipping movements that I read somewhere in the forum is very telling. Its down be something like 90%. If thats a large proportion of imported/exported foodstuffs then thats very serious. People should look at growing there own food and storing seeds. Doesnt matter if you live in a highrise apartment. Sunny windows will grow food. Learning how, empowers a person. A small backyard can grow an enormous variety. People do it. With the first step, comes the next.
