Hi Helen and welcome.
Like you becoming sober some years back-- over thity as far as I can remember, started the quest within me, hard going at first but well worth while. I had to hit rock bottom in order to be ready to grow and am still in that process.
Im up in Inveness and agree whole heartedly that we are where we are supposed to be. Eckhart Tolle who wrote the Power of Now is one of my main influences and I do my best to remain in the present moment.
