TheChose, I just realised it might be Halo, as that on the lower left could easily part of a ringworld (anybody know where they got that idea from?)... it all has this 'weather, water contintent' structure but it still all looks purple. I can't make up my mind whether it's all a space station or not. Which also brings me to question whether you played Myst, specifically URU. You might find lots of 'familiar' things there too.
Truly mysterious how some media interface with 'lost memories' or whatever they are.

But seriously, what places are common then? These pictures are so familiar.
(By the way, the way you describe them to move rings a bell, there was something about them being not really liquid, nor fixed but somehow dematerial as if they just about manifested each step rather than move. Thanks for reminding.
