G'day Carmen and macros - they're a pretty odd bunch in here I must agree. But they're pretty harmless.

I had an interesting experience on my way in tonigh folks. I got stuck behind an old rattle-trap truck. He stopped at the first set of traffic lights and got out of the cab. I thought he'd probably been driving all day and needed to stretch his legs.

When the lights turned green, he hammered on the side of the truck, jumped into the cab, a took off to a shuddering start. At the next set of lights he went through the same procedure again. I must admit I was curious as to what was his reason for doing this.

After two more sets of lights I was almost having a nervous breakdown and had to take a blood pressure pill. Finally, I couldn't contain myself any longer and the next time we stopped, I jumped out too, ran up to him and asked what the hell was going on?

He replied, "well, this old truck has a badly slipping clutch - I've got 1000 pigeons in the back and the clutch just couldn't handle it if they were all perching, so I give them a wake-up. That way the clutch will last until we reach home and I can fix it."
