OK kids; I say kids cause I am from the generation of the 60's & 70's.
The 80's was my exposure to any sense of awakening. Many new age composers knew deep within themselves what the music was for. Here are some great examples;

Danna & Clement - A Gradual Awakening & Summerland
Kitaro;
John Serrie - And the stars go with you, deep starship and many others
Larry Leeder - View from the summit, Ascent, etc.
Kevin Braheny - Galaxies & my favorite - The Way Home/Perelandra
