Thanks for your comments. Iceland was a relatively advanced country to fall apart economically. I can see Ireland fitting that model; they only recently became quite affluent before the crash. For sure it's hard to see how it will affect other countries. I believe Brazil, other SA countries have been trying to be more independent of outside influence, so not sure how it will be impacted. Same for Canada, the feeling here is that we will fair better than most. Iceland looks like the leading edge of this collapse, so as you say, the rest can learn from the experience.
