First thing is first. Water Filter -- a Doulton or Berkey, etc. Might want to consider a portable as well as a home filter. I have a generator that I'm converting to GEET... a Bedini SSG battery charger, plenty of candles and some canned foods to wait out a storm. If things get too tough at home, my focus is on higher ground away from population centers. I have a few ideas around the SNP, possibly through the Appalachian trail system. I keep a map of the area in my "go bag."

Any thoughts?
