"The day the Earth stood still"

I was going to piggy back this thread with the other thread in UFO's called "CIA, UFOs and Hollywood." but i get the impression this could be stand alone thread. If the mods don't agree, i don't mind if you want to movie it.

The Day The Earth Stood Still

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1717/11585largetw3.jpg

Has anyone seen that movie. Its nothing like the old one from the 50's. It deffinately has a very strong message. I think its very appropriate to what is happening now. And again, its all about the masses, the sheople, that are asleep whilst the earth is being wasted, destroyed by all of us. It takes our imminent destruction till we wake up. The funny thing is, most people's opinion of the movie is that there was not enough action. People still don't get it. They are expecting entertainment and don't understand the message within the movie. And again, the military shoot first then want to know why the "ALIEN" is willing to destroy the Earth.

Again, before the movie commenced, there was a trailer about 2012 the movie. I got so angry when the commentary came on about the movie "How would the governments of our planet, prepare six billion people, for the end of the world, THEY WOULDN"T.People in the theatre started to laugh and make jokes. I felt like getting up and telling them to wake up and pay attention.

I'd like to hear yor opinion if you've seen the movie or if you have an opinion anyway.

I find that these movies all have bits of the reality story in them. from the ancient record. this one was no different. I made a comment to a lady as I was leaving. I hope it happens. and she got all weirded out. I love the part about our planet. your planet? LOL.. I feel you. but I don't think the movies are doing the job. its just entertainment for most. most don't leave them with introspective on our situation. the movie made perfect sense to me. we don't deserve to be here if were not going to take responsibility and care of the planet. if you look back into the ancient record this has already happened. maybe we should be building an ark? :lmao: or maybe our alien friends have already cataloged the the living species of the planet. for the restart.

lets hope steven greer is right.

If all people can do is clamor for more action, then we are 'effin doomed and nothing more.

Well i did go and see this movie and was surprised how different it was from the original be it back in the 50's and what we know now.
I too said exactly the same thing "If they don't get the message, then frankly they aren't worth bothering about!"
Too many just don't get it!

Loved it when Keanu says; YOUR PLanet! precisely!
Quite agree this is not our planet we are just the inhabitants at this present time and if the planet does exist in the future i dread to think what the human thought process will be then!

Not to spoil it for those who have not seen it yet, something was seen in the final moments a spark of love was felt and Keanu then knew all was not lost, well lets not wait till the eleventh hour and continue to try at least to awaken a few more although sometimes you feel it is all a waste of time:wall::wall:

If anyone has seen the film THE HAPPENING! they will no doubt know that another threat to humanity, earths own geneology in our plant life, trees etc could be another way of killing us off. Although completely off the wall this film has some connotations to the planet taking over and plant life disrupting our mind patterns turning us in to suicidal victims killing ourselves!
What ever you make of these films, hints and innuendos are put into the mass mind programming us to take on any situation that may arise!

Haha!

Seriously though, as you might have picked up by now, I'm a film student/film-maker and I am wondering what these films are REALLY for.

Aren't they just indoctrinating YOU? They are DICTATING visions of the future so that your IMAGINATION is pinned down to a scenario or at least it's INTERPRETATION. If you can dismantle this argument or add to it, I'd love to hear your comments.

I would love to go see all those films mentioned but I am concerned that I can't tell what it actually does to me.

My wife and I saw this movie a couple of days ago. As a spectacle it was quite dissapointing, but "they" sure got there point across to the unsuspecting - that we "can indeed" expect some sort of disclosure in the near future.
Some of those inflections were very obvious in the dialogue and resonated with the info we discuss here.

If that is so I'm amazed the film is getting out at all.
Yet again.

It's getting a lot of play here with trailers on TV. One way of pushing the bored holiday vacationers into the theaters.

Re: "The day the Earth stood still"

seen this movie, more than the actual film was what i heard from some of the audience at the conclusion ...

comments that the powers that be are and will always take care of this planet ...

that "if" something does go down, that something or someone external to their own selves will "fix it" and life will once again resume as it was prior ...

the distance these audience members placed between their selves and their responsibility to the planet they live on felt so vast, their understanding that we are all keepers of this earth was clearly non existant ...

it wasn't everyone that made these comments but there were enough ...

oh dear ...

Just watched it and very disappointing to say the least, in fact I shut it off half way through. Good thing I didn't pay for it. Terrible movie!:thumbdown::thumbdown: Of course I should've known with Keanu Reeves in it.

it was a flat movie. it could have been made better. but I thought it was worth the 10$. or maybe you should watch it for free. see above. but you miss some of it when not seeing it on the big screen. I liked the message. I just wish more would get it.

I just cant wait for disclosure!!! that should wake some people up. shack there foundation enough to start looking at the big picture. its what we need..

Re: "The day the Earth stood still"

Yeah your right dagon, just kind of flat and could have been made a lot better, but I will finish it out tomorrow and see the rest of it. I think I was just not in the mood to watch it and my expectations were too high.

The global warming agenda and pre-emptive strikes against mankind are in the same portfolio. They are rollling out the advance guard.

Re: "The day the Earth stood still"

I saw it yesterday, it was terrible.. compared with the original. The kid in the movie is SO annoying all the way through and the bug swarm was stupid and unnecessary.

Thats what happens when you get a moron like Scott Derrickson to direct the remake of a classic. I read and interview with this guy about the movie and this fool actually said "Its Us VS Them" referring to the aliens (same old fear-mongering hollywood propaganda, Signs, Independence Day etc..)
The director of the film completely missing the key point of the whole film!
Benevolent human ETs with an envirnmental message - got turned into destroyer aliens with swarms of killer bugs!!! What a d%#k.

Apologies if you are reading this and I've ruined the plot for you.. but go rent the original classic instead.

If watching this online ( if you can find one that doesn't cut out towrds the end)
which most of them are.
The vidics.com divx version is corrupt and may damage your computer.

Many of files of this movie are being removed.

Has anyone written a book or developed a website which examines the historical connection between movies, television...and future events? Have you seen the Lone Gunman episode shown months before 9/11? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUKQz-xm0is I saw this when it first aired. When 9/11 happened it really freaked me out. Also, a Simpsons episode featured a creepy segment...months before 9/11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKkEq...eature=related The original 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' was released when our government was first dealing (officially) with the alien situation...and supposedly making deals with the Devil aka Aliens.
