Four Corners area, where is it?
 

Miriam Delicado mentions the Four Corners area to be a safe place if there is a disaster. Where is this place on earth? Anyone know?

The Four Corners is the only place in the United States where four states come together at one place. Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado meet at the Four Corners. Here a person can put each of their hands and feet in four states at the same time.

the 4 corners area is not a very hospitable area right now, unless you're established or know someone. Water is scarce, the soil poor & the locals territorial (native Americans, ranchers & Mormons). It may become a good place to be in the future, but tread carefully for now.

I lived in the four corners area for a while. Farmington, Shiprock, Durango, Cortez.

Much of the area looks like the surface of the moon. The Colorado side is gorgeous. If you think you're going to move there bring your own money because there is very little work. Bring lots of it because is there is a premium to be paid for living in the San Juan mountains.

You had best enjoy living in tiny town and shopping by mail order. The largest vendor in the area is
Sam's Club in Farmington. The nearest real shopping is Albuquerque four hours away. Denver is eight
hours drive over two major mountain ranges. Driving in winter can be a death defying act and you WILL take survival preps seriously driving around there. Every year mother nature gives a few people an attitude adjustment if they live through it. While I was there a young fella slid off Coal Bank
Pass. He had to post hole up a 500 ft embankment with no coat, no gloves, and a broken leg to get back to the road to be rescued. It cost him his hands to frostbite.

Most folks who aren't rich or multi-generational settlers live in trailer parks cause that's just the way it is.
Here is a home for sale in the area near Durango. It's been on the market for several years now...
