The lack of a backup generator at the Windsor-Essex health unit could put thousands of dollars in vaccines at risk. The province has denied a request by the health unit for 100-thousand dollars to buy a generator and keep the vaccines properly refrigerated. Board Chair Gary McNamara says it's very important to keep the shots at a controlled tempereature or they could be destroyed. 200 to 300-thousand dollars worth of vaccines is at stake.
